Deepening Willingness

What does it mean to be willing?

Let's be clear that willingness is NOT about convincing, proving, or knowing that an opportunity is good for you. Willingness is about taking a breath, allowing your intuitive self to lead, and having faith. The Webster dictionary identifies "willing" as an adjective and "willingness" as a noun. I LOVE this perspective.

Grammar 101:

Adjective: a word belonging to one of the major form classes in any of numerous languages and typically serving as a modifier of a noun to denote a quality of the thing named, to indicate its quantity or extent, or to specify a thing as distinct from something else

Noun: any member of a class of words that typically can be combined with determiners to serve as the subject of a verb, can be interpreted as singular or plural, can be replaced with a pronoun, and refer to an entity, quality, state, action, or concept

So willingness is a noun which is a thing -- I'm going to say that the "thing" is your faith in what you are about to do and be. Willingness is required to move from what is to what might be. If you're sitting on an edge and contemplating your next step, you have to be willing to take action. Your willingness needs to be solid and in place for you to trust the process and surrender to what is about to happen. Are you ready? Are you willing?

So deepen your willingness becomes somatic. It is no longer a thought or a feeling that you occasionally feel or are inspired by but rather it becomes something within you that is ALWAYS present. When you deepen you actually shift the landscape within so when the world around you spins out of control or you feel the pressure to conform to societal norms, your willingness is solid and available for you to lean on, step on, and rely on.

How do you deepen your willingness? Here's a list of things that came up for me yet I feel like none of them are concrete steps. Deepening our willingness might be an accumulation of actions, thoughts, experiences. I'm in the journey with you and would be open to having a conversation to explore.

  • meditation

  • journalling

  • being willing

  • having boundaries

  • loving yourself

  • healing what causes your pain and creates fear

  • creative visualization - see the space for willingness to live within

Many Blessings to your Sweet Soul!
